On September 16th the first interactive Youth Media Forward skills session brought together participating youth journalists and creators from Guadalajara, Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey and Toronto.
With the theme of “Whose Story?” the session was an opportunity to introduce each other and to start thinking about under-reported stories and voices. The world of sports is rich in perspectives, from the grassroots to major events, and from players and coaches, to fans, to event workers and local community members.

“Conversations grow organically…the trick is to keep doors open. Ideally ask your follow-up questions while you are in the conversation because [the interviewee] is in that thought too.”
