Ocho adolescentes de la Iniciativa de Jóvenes Periodistas visitaron el Fan Fest de Guadalajara, durante la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026.
Su objetivo era de investigar y documentar cómo DIF Guadalajara (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia), UNICEF y la Procuraduría de Protección de Jalisco cuidan a la infancia durante eventos masivos, evaluando también la percepción de las familias y la vivencia real de las juventudes.

English summary:
Eight Youth Media Forward participants visited the FIFA Fan Fest in Guadalajara, during the 2026 World Cup.
Their goal was to investigate and document the steps that child protection agencies and UNICEF took to ensure child safety during the event, and, through interviews, to evaluate the experience of families and young people.
A mother interviewed by youth reporter Renata said:
“Knowing that there is a specific place to take care of children, and a team dedicated to this, reassures you as a mother so that you can enjoy the football.”
Youth media forward reporter Cristopher heard from teens at the Fan Fest that they appreciated the safety measures, the planning and the inclusive environment, but that activities tended to be focused either on very small children, or adults.
Teens’ recommendations were for: more activities geared for adolescents (from 12 - 17 years old); efforts to improve the entry process to make the lines move more smoothly; and a greater number of areas of shade, hydration and rest close to the giant screens.
